A newly-launched hedge fund firm has already attracted investments from some of Chicago’s wealthiest families.
Chicago Business reported that BlueSpruce Investments received commitments from Susan Crown, a partner at investment management firm Henry Crown & Company, and Penny Pritzker, the CEO of PSP Capital Partners and Pritzker Realty Group.
Peter Thiel, co-founder of electronic payment services company PayPal Inc., also made an investment in BlueSpruce.
Launched last month by former Madiaon Dearborn Partners professionals Tim Hurd and Ed Magnus, BlueSpruce currently has about $300 million in assets. It has a targeted amount of $400 million.
