The former chief investment officer of portfolio management at CQS has joined BlueCrest Capital Management.
Bloomberg reported that Oliver Dobbs, who started his new position earlier this month, will be responsible for trading convertible bonds at London-based BlueCrest. Dobbs also traded convertible bonds at Citigroup's hedge fund unit prior to joining CQS.
BlueCrest is hiring more traders since its assets under management doubled since 2009, bringing its current AuM to about $34 billion.
Also based in London, CQS was founded in 1999 by Michael Hintze. It manages about $12 billion in assets.
