Asset manager Salient Partners has brought on two new employees.
Rusty Guinn and Todd Centurino have both been appointed to directors of investments, according to an announcement by Salient on Tuesday. They previously worked for the Teacher Retirement System of Texas.
In their new roles, Guinn and Centurino will work with the investment team to oversee and manage Salient’s funds and separately manage accounts. Guinn will primarily be responsible for leading the portfolio management team, while Centurino will utilize his TRS experience to lead the management of the firm’s public fund mandates.
Guinn was most recently the director of strategic partnership and opportunistic investments at TRS. He previously worked at Credit Suisse in its asset management finance unit.
Centurino was the senior investment manager for external public markets and hedge funds at TRS. Prior to TRS, he worked for seven years at Fidelity Investments.
Houston-based Salient Partners deals in hedge funds and other investment strategies, and has $17.4 billion in assets under management.
