Hedge fund firms Tiger Management and Marvin & Palmer Associates have announced a strategic partnership to invest in Southeast Asian equities.
In a statement released Tuesday from both firms, the new Asian strategy will be managed by Marvin & Palmer affiliate MPA Capital Management.
New York-based Tiger Management chairman and chief executive officer Julian Robertson explained that Asia was a natural choice as “Asia presents an ideal landscape for a hedge fund manager.”
Since his retirement from active fund management in 2000, Robertson has invested directly in other hedge funds operated by former Tiger Management employees. Based in Delaware, Marvin & Palmer focuses primarily on equity management. It manages about $2.1 billion in assets.
