New York-based hedge fund manager Christopher O’Neill has married into royalty.
The Associated Press reported that O’Neill, a partner and head of research at Noster Capital, and Swedish princess Madeleine wed on Saturday in a ceremony at the Royal Palace chapel in Stockholm.
O’Neill and Madeleine met two years ago in New York after the latter fled Sweden after breaking off her engagement to Swedish attorney Jonas Bergstrom amid media reports that he had cheated on her.
O’Neill, who holds dual American and British citizenship, has declined a royal Swedish rank. He plans to continue working at Noster, which invests globally focusing on absolute returns, after the wedding.
