How much would you pay to lunch with billionaire investor Warren Buffett?
According to a Wall Street Journal report, an anonymous bidder paid a little over $1 million in the 14th annual auction to dine with Buffett. The winner can invite up to seven friends to join the pair at New York steakhouse Smith & Wollensky.
The proceeds from the auction will go toward Glide, a San Francisco-based homeless charity.
While this year’s amount is significantly less than the $3.5 million paid last year, it is a large increase from the first auction which only raised $25,000 in 2000.
The chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, Buffett announced in 2006 that he would give his entire fortune away to charity.
