Activist investor and hedge fund manager Carl Icahn has taken on a social media platform.
The New York Times reported that Icahn’s assistant confirmed on Thursday that the investor has joined Twitter with the handle, @Carl_C_Icahn.
Icahn, known for being an outspoken investor, sent out his first tweet Thursday morning in reference to his investment in computer giant Dell. Icahn, who significantly increased his stake in Dell, is opposing a management buyout of Dell.
Separately, hedge fund manager Douglas Kass has left Twitter, blaming “haters.”
Icahn returned outside money for his firm, Icahn Capital Management, in 2011 to focus on investing his own funds.
