The Houston-based hedge fund spin-off of Centaurus Advisors has hired a former Citadel employee.
Houston-based Skylar Capital Management spokesperson Mitch Ackles told Evestment that Loftus Fitzwater, who has over 15 years of industry experience, joined the firm June 17 as a trader.
According to a Bloomberg article, Skylar is one of at least two hedge funds to launch from Centaurus’ closure last year.
Evestment reported in May last year that Centaurus founder John Arnold told investors in a letter that he was retiring to “pursue other interests," despite the fact that the fund often had triple-digit returns during its existence and had only suffered a loss in 2010.
Skylar firm raised $102 million from investors as of October 2012.
