Aspiring hedge fund manager Steven Goff is facing at least 15 years in jail after admitting to aggravated manslaughter.
The Daily Mail U.K. reported that Goff, who is hoping to work in the hedge fund industry, confessed last week to a judge that he was an 18-year-old “in a rage” when he left 15-year-old Frederick Hart to die after stabbing him more than two decades ago. Goff turned himself in in April.
James Leonard Jr., Goff’s attorney, said that his client wanted to get the killing “off his chest” and bring closure to the victim’s family.
Goff has been “dabbling in stock trading” and was hoping to become a hedge fund manager.
