The former head of principal investment groups at Stanley Morgan is planning to launch an event-driven hedge fund in September.
Financial News reported that George Kounelakis will launch the new fund out of U.K.-based ENA Investment Capital, which was incorporated last August. The new fund will invest across the capital structure “in situations of stress created by transformative events and lack of liquidity in Europe.”
The article also said that an undisclosed “large U.S. institution” will seed the fund.
Prior to Morgan Stanley, Kounelakis worked at Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell.
