Hedge fund manager Steve Cohen is a big fan of Food Network’s Guy Fieri.
The New York Post reported that according to Allen Salkin’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” Cohen paid Fieri $100,000 to drive around Connecticut with him to reenact a fantasy episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
Cohen’s representative insisted that while the pair do know each other, the story is false.
Cohen, the founder of Connecticut-based SAC Capital Advisors, is facing a fine between $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion to settle a criminal insider trading case with the U.S. government.
The hedge fund manager was charged earlier in summer with failing to prevent insider trading at the firm, while SAC was also charged with fraud for allegedly allowing insider trading to go unchecked from 1999 through at least 2010.
