London-based Odey Asset Management is launching a Europe-focused fund next month.
Investment Week reported that the new fund, managed by Feras Al-Chalabi, is part of Odey Asset’s expansion of its long/short investment strategy prompted by high demand from investors. The new absolute return vehicle, scheduled to open in early January, is subject to regulatory approval.
Al-Chalabi also oversees two of Odey Asset’s top-performing European-focused hedge funds.
Odey, founded by Crispin Odey, is one of Europe’s richest and best-known hedge fund firms and it manages about $10 billion in assets.
