Institutional investment firm Commonfund has appointed its managing director to the head of hedge fund research.
HedgeWeek reported that the promotion of Kristofer Kwait, who has been with Connecticut-based Commonfund for the last 12 years, has played a “significant influence on the hedge fund team.”
Nicholas De Monico, the chief executive officer of Commonfund hedge fund strategies group, explained that Kwait has been "instrumental in [the firm’s] ability to set a high standard in manager identification and selection, portfolio analysis, due diligence and investment monitoring." During his tenure at the firm, Kwait supervised the group's quantitative analytics team in addition to manager selection.
Founded in 1969, Commonfund manages over $24 billion in assets for nearly 1,500 institutions.
