A partner at European hedge fund firm Marshall Wace has reportedly departed.
Financial News reported that Simon Goodman, who was the chief technology officer at London-based Marshall, left at the end of December after 15 years at the firm. Goodman’s future career plans were not disclosed.
As chief technology officer, Goodman oversaw a global team of 40 and managed the development of the firm’s algorithmic trading and quantitative research platform. In 2005, he became the first partner at the firm from outside the investment team.
Founded in 1997 by Paul Marshall, the former head of European equities at Mercury Asset Management and Ian Wace, the former head of equities trading at Deutsche Bank, Marshall Wace manages approximately $15.5 billion in assets.
