New York-based hedge fund Ramius has named a new head of liquid alternative products.
According to a statement issued by the firm Tuesday, Bradley Sussman will be responsible for the firm’s mutual fund platform and growing its suite of liquid alternative products.
Ramius chief executive officer Michael Singer explained that Sussman’s experience n “overseeing portfolios of hedge funds and more recently, leading the sourcing and diligence of alternative mutual funds, is uniquely qualified to lead [the firm’s] liquid alternatives business.”
Sussman is currently the managing director and hedge fund strategist at Merrill Lynch, where he has been a member of its Investment Committee for Alternative Investments and head of non-traditional mutual fund due diligence. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Sussman was a portfolio manager at Ivy Asset Management where he managed $3.5 billion in assets across 18 fund of hedge funds portfolios.
Ramius, with $9 billion in assets under management, is a subsidiary of investment bank Cowen Group.
