Connecticut-based Axiom International Investors has started a new fund and has also hired a co-portfolio manager to oversee the new strategy.
Axiom said in a statement released Tuesday that it launched a small-cap strategy fund on January 1, which focuses on investing in small cap companies outside of the U.S. Yogesh Borkar was brought on to manage the offering in conjunction with Matthew Franco, who oversees the small/micro cap team.
With over two decades of global research and investment experience, Borkar was most recently the senior investment professional at Fidelity Investment and Pyramis Global Advisors. At Fidelity/Pyramis, he served as a senior research analyst for the firm’s global ex U.S. small cap strategy and an associate portfolio manager for the small cap emerging markets strategy that he helped start.
Founded in 1998, Axiom manages approximately $10 billion in assets.
