A pair of Goldman Sachs managing directors is joining Chicago-based hedge fund firm Citadel’s fixed-income division.
Bloomberg reported that Uberto Palomba, Goldman’s co-head of emerging markets trading for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Jonathan Tipermas, who managed the bank’s dollar swaps-trading desk, have joined Citadel as part of the firm’s plan to expand its fixed-income operation.
Palomba will work out of Citadel’s London office, while Tipermas will be based in New York.
Citadel, which has additional offices globally including San Francisco and Hong Kong, manages about $2.2 billion in its fixed-income fund. The firm has a total of about $16 billion in assets under management.
