Hong Kong-based multi-strategy hedge fund firm Central Asset Investments is considering re-opening its pan-Asia special situations offering to new investors.
Asian Investor reported that the fund, which first launched last summer, may re-open this spring to internal and external investors for about one or two months. CAI is also considering making the strategy a permanent offering.
The fund, which returned 100% in its first six months of operation, was created to keep its multi-strategy offering within its internal risk limits, while giving the firm’s existing investors the chance to increase their concentration risk. While CAI CEO Eddie Tam did not disclose to the news outlet the offering’s AuM, he did say that it manages below $100 million.
Founded in 2005, CAI has an additional office in the Chinese city of Shenzhen.
