Alternative investment firm Cheetah Investment Management has hired hedge fund of hedge funds veteran Brian MacDougall to lead its business development efforts.
The Hong Kong-based firm announced in a statement last week that in MacDougall’s new role as business development director, he will be responsible for leading Cheetah’s internalization. His appointment is effective immediately.
Cheetah managing director and founder Raymond Wong explained that MacDougall’s “two decades of Asian experience and an in depth knowledge of global institutions” will be “instrumental in helping [Cheetah’s] ambition to double [its] assets under management over the next few years.”
MacDougall was most recently the executive director of Swiss private bank Syz & Co, following its acquisition of fund of hedge fund firm Oria Capital. He co-founded Oria in 2004, where he was responsible for leading its business development strategy.
Formed in 2002, Cheetah manages about $1 billion in assets.
