Highbridge Capital Management veteran Adam Bernstein is leaving the firm with two colleagues so they can start their own hedge fund firm.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Bernstein, who joined New York-based Highbridge nearly nine year ago, plans to depart next month with Mark Hoffman, the firm’s global head of stock trading and an undisclosed investment analyst.
According to the article, the trio told colleagues that they plan to launch a technology and media-focused hedge fund later this year. Additional details regarding the launch were not disclosed.
A unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co., Highbridge manages approximately $31 billion in assets.
