The non-profit organization 100 Women in Hedge Funds will honor Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company CEO Jane Buchan with its 2014 North American Industry Leadership Award.
100WHF announced in a statement that Buchan will receive the award at the annual 100WHF New York Gala, to be held at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on November 12. She will also be recognized as the award honoree at the inaugural 100WHF Cayman Gala at Tiki Beach on May 3.
In addition to being CEO, Buchan is also the co-founder of California-based PAAMCO. Buchan, along with three co-founders, helped the firm grow to $9 billion in asset under management and over $6 billion in assets under advisement. In addition to her responsibilities for overall business strategy and firm direction, Buchan remains actively involved in PAAMCO’s investment process as a member of the firm’s Investment Oversight Committee.
100WHF was formed in 2001 to organize various activities throughout the year that fit its three-pronged philanthropic mission: mentoring, women’s and family health, and education. It has since raised over $33 million for various charities.
