Och-Ziff Capital Management’s 31-year old trading star scored a $119 million paycheck last year.

The Wall Street Journal reported that James Levin, who is currently the head of global credit and an executive managing director at Och-Ziff, received nearly $119 million in stock rewards for his 2012 bet of more than $7.5 billion on “structured credit” debt investments that earned the firm nearly $2 billion.

The article added that Levin’s enormous payday could be attributed to his 14-person credit team which brought in more than half of Och-Ziff’s 468-person firm’s $3.4 billion trading gains in 2012.

Founded in 1994, New York-based Och-Ziff—which has additional offices in London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Beijing and Dubai—manages about $43 billion in assets.
