London-based hedge fund firm Cheyne Capital has recruited two employees from Meditor Capital Management.
Financial News reported that Martin Glen and Pierre-Marie Di Maria Laval joined Cheyne last month as partners. The pair previously worked together at Meditor, with Laval leaving in December and Glen the following month.
Prior to Meditor, Glen worked at Lazard and Jefferies, while Laval’s previous experience include Lehman Brothers and Highbridge Capital Management.
According to an eVestment article from earlier this week, Cheyne also added former Portman Square Capital partner David Darmouni earlier this month to its event-driven team.
Launched in 2000, Cheyne manages about $6.5 billion in assets. It utilizes corporate credit, real estate debt, equities, equity-linked and event-driven strategies.
