Alternative investment manager Investcorp is expanding its hedge fund unit with another hire.
The firm announced in a statement released Tuesday that David Walsh has joined Investcorp’s Hedge Funds Group; his responsibility will be to identify and source emerging hedge fund talent, and to structure and develop relationships with these managers. He will report directly to Nick Vamvakas, head of Investcorp's single manager business.
Walsh was most recently a senior member at UBS as part of their Capital Introduction Group, where he was actively involved in all aspects of the prime brokerage business.
eVestment reported earlier this month that Franklyn Chang joined Invescorp’s Hedge Funds Group as a managing director where he will focus on growing the unit’s assets under management through strategic and targeted business development efforts.
Investcorp’s hedge fund unit had approximately $4.8 billion in assets under management. It has offices in New York, London, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
